Why Substack?

I joined Substack for a variety of reasons. I always like new stuff. I learned about it on TikTok. I was watching the many toks on AI and SS seemed to be a place people were using as a blogspot. Do people still use that? Anyway I’m giving it a try.

I am a former software engineer. I am now retired which I have mixed emotions about. I enjoyed software when I was in startups but really ended up disliking it at my last job in corporate America with lots pf contractor, consultant, etc. They really took the fun out of it. I still like to follow what’s going on and AI stuff is pretty interesting.

My m Ian activities now are organizing Road Rallies in winter and playing golf in summer with a little fly fishing thrown in. This fall I will be running a 10 day rally, the ALCAN 5000 which goes fro Seattle to Alaska then back to BC. Should be a real experience.

Going forward this stack should be more about rod rally and hopefully a journal on our ALCAN 5000 adventure.
